The universe is a BIG place and we are so very small in comparison. Yet, God has important plans for us, IF we trust Him enough to follow His directions.
Do the adversities we face happen by chance or does God have a hand in all our affairs? Does God use any circumstance to accomplish His will? If so, do the trials we endure bring us closer to Him?
The possibilities for offense are endless. More so, in the House of God, where the expectations of Christ-like behavior hold us to a high standard. Our own hurt feelings should not be the guide of our decisions and judgments.
Life is never easy. Sometimes we face circumstances where our only choices are to violate a core value or let innocent people suffer. It can feel like God is putting us in a “no win” scenario. Perhaps by striving to find the right answer, God is shaping our hearts to understand Him better.
Most people in this world spend their energy pursuing temporary things like wealth, fame or pleasure. The wise among us will seek a life filled with wisdom and virtue. But none of us know the purpose that God has been leading us toward.
When we take a moment to reflect, the beauty of the natural world can be overwhelming. Without the knowledge of God to inform them, wise and educated men have struggled to understand how creation came to be. Scripture reveals to us, not so much of the “how”, but more of the “why.“
Scripture gives us many examples from the past that we might learn from, as well as revealing the plans God has in store for the future. But its most impactful quality is the clear expectations for our behavior in the world today.
