“You don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone” is a common saying heard today. It’s used to describe our tendency to undervalue the important things in life. Many of the blessings we’ve inherited from past generations get ignored and neglected to such an extent that we are in peril of losing them. Some of the most significant blessings are only available to those who will fight for them.

We know that our calling will lead us to make some tough choices in life. We know that this world will test our resolve to remain faithful to that calling. But we also know that we’re told to take the time to appreciate the good things we have and to rejoice over and enjoy the blessings God has given us.
